A Taste Of Philadelphia - New Bern

My family LOVED a taste of Philadelphia! The Italian ice cream was great. We received super customer service! They explained to us what everything was and even let us taste flavors before buying! This is our new favorite place to go!

Such a family friendly place. The owners (and anyone who has been working) take the time to talk with my very chatty daughter every time we come in, and make her feel special by greeting her by name when she walks in! She asks me multiple times a week to go visit her “friends” who work at the Italian ice store. Every thing we have tried has been delicious so far- lots of things to choose from! I love that the selection of Italian ice and ice cream changes.

My husband and I drove over and hour to go to this awesome place. I am a Jersey girl who moved to the south and misses home. Coming to this place was awesome and made me feel like I was home. The food was on point and the atmosphere is awesome! It nice having a taste of home so close now. . We will be back for sure!

It's a smaller place with a lot of flavor varieties. They have Hershey's hard ice creams and non-dairy soft serve ice cream. I didn't like the soft serve. It had a weird texture and flavor. I guess I'm just so used to dairy ice cream. They have about 26 different flavors for the soft serve and over a dozen for the hard ice cream. They make banana splits, milkshakes and whatever else you'd like. They have fast service and accept credit cards.

To all the reviewers who rated this place lower for having bland or dry cheeses: the secret to enjoying a flavorful cheese steak here is to request extra cheese. For me, they all taste the same. If cheese isn't your thing, you might want to try mayo. Anything made with bread can be dry if not prepared correctly, so it's really about knowing how you like it. Don’t blame the cook if you simply place a standard order; it will just come as it is! The shakes are fantastic, and you can even get a drink that's a blend of both. Now that Andy's has been taken over, this is the go-to spot for cheese steaks and shakes! They just need oranges to complete the trifecta!
