Duncan's Fireside - New Auburn

I wasn't very impressed. Many menu items were unavailable, and while they offer deep-fried Walleye with the skin on, they charge a hefty fee for a skinless baked option when the baked version is usually served skinless. The biggest drawback, though, was the two-hour wait for our food.

I visited for the Friday fish fry, expecting a bit of a wait, but I was told it would be 45 minutes. After 2.25 hours, we finally got seated, and then it took another half hour for our food to arrive. Fortunately, the restaurant has a nice outdoor deck with a lovely lake view to enjoy while you wait. Our server was very kind and apologized for the long wait. The fish fry was good, but not exceptional. We also discovered it’s cash only, which forced us to use the ATM. The significantly underestimated wait time was frustrating enough that I wouldn't recommend the experience.

I would not recommend dining here. We waited two hours for our food, while other tables that ordered after us received their meals first. The kids' cod meal consisted of four fish sticks, not actual cod. My husband's chicken was awful, and I ordered a filet, but I kept finding bones in every bite. A filet shouldn't have bones, and this should have been mentioned on the menu if that's the case. When our server checked in to ask how everything was, we politely shared our feedback. She went to inform the other staff, which is what she should have done.

Great place to eat, food is awesome and the staff is wonderful, even the 9 year old who helps with seating. This 9 year old is learning you have to work hard, even when there are rude customers which is something this generation has forgotten to often. Keep in mind this is a family owned and the family helps with everything. I love it, the one review complaining about the wait, well guess what it's because their food is awesome and everyone goes there. Locals

I went here after being recommended by a friend for their pizza. The last time I was here was about four years ago under the previous management and it was really good! First off, they had a child up front who couldn?t have been older than 9, taking names and bussing tables by himself at the same time. Second, they didn?t even have pizza with no explanation why. The food took a long time to be served; there were only two servers working tables. Finally, we didn?t find this
