The minestrone soup tasted more like vegetable soup with some oregano thrown in and lacked any salt. The breadsticks were stale, and there was no butter for the baked potato; instead, it came with cups of Country Crock. I ordered my strip steak medium, but it arrived well done. My husband's Philly cheesesteak came on a burned bun. If you can get past the front door, I wouldn’t recommend looking closely at the kitchen or the bathroom either.
On his last night, Brandan made the poor choice to drink alcohol at Cherry's Sports Bar and Grill in Nevada, Missouri. He was only 18 years old, and we acknowledge that he acted illegally. Tragically, he lost his life as a result of that decision. However, Cherry's and its bartenders served my son alcohol for five hours that night. When we approached Cherry's to discuss what happened, a female bartender claimed she knew who Brandan was and asserted that she hadn't served him that night. This was a lie; she did serve him and his friends, and she didn’t even ask for IDs. They broke the law by serving minors and failing to check IDs, which is required for anyone under 40. Brandan certainly didn’t look 40. One of his final texts that night was to a friend inviting him to join him at Cherry's because “they don’t card, LOL.” That underage friend was also served without being carded. Moreover, Cherry's had a drink special that night: bring two friends and get a free beer. Brandan received his free beer, but the two friends he used to qualify for that deal were both underage as well. It's hard to believe that the emphasis wasn't solely on making money that night. For those who think it was Brandan’s fault for choosing to drink: yes, he made those choices, and sadly, it ended his life. However, Cherry's made their own choices that night when they served him and allowed him to drink past the point of intoxication.
Unfortunately, Brandan made a serious mistake one night when he went to Cherry’s Sports Bar and Grill in Nevada, Missouri. He chose to drink alcohol, which is illegal for him at 18, and sadly, he paid the ultimate price for that mistake. Cherry’s, along with their bartenders, served my 18-year-old son alcohol for five hours that night. When I went to Cherry’s to talk with them about what happened, the female bartender claimed she didn’t serve my son that night. It was disheartening to find out she was lying, as she had indeed served Brandan and his friends without knowing them. They broke the law by not checking IDs. It is illegal to serve alcohol to minors, and they were required to card my son and his friends—none of whom appeared to be over 40. One of Brandan’s last texts that night was to a friend, stating he was at Cherry’s because they hadn’t carded him. This underage friend was also served without being carded. On that night, Cherry’s was running a drink special: bring two friends and get a free beer. Brandan received his free beer, but the unfortunate truth is that neither of his friends were old enough to drink either. This raises serious questions about whether the bar was prioritizing profit over responsibility. Some may argue that it was Brandan’s fault for choosing to drink that night, and while he did make choices, we must also recognize that Cherry’s chose to serve him and put him in a dangerous position.
The poorly forged area around the front doorbell should have been a warning not to enter. The food was mediocre at best. The minestrone soup tasted primarily sweet with just a hint of oregano, and it was completely lacking in salt. The breadsticks were stale, and there was no butter served with the baked potato, which was accompanied by cheap country-style toppings. I ordered my strip steak medium, but it arrived well-done. The bun for my Philly cheesesteak was burnt. I wouldn't recommend looking into the kitchen or the bathroom as you pass by the door.
