The restaurant has a charming setting with welcoming and attentive staff, creating a pleasant atmosphere. The food was mostly delicious and we plan on coming back in the future. My only small complaint is that my steak was just okay, not outstanding. However, I believe this could have been a one-time occurrence and look forward to trying it again in the future.

We first dined here years ago and had a memorable lunch. Everything was perfect from ambience to food. OK so it was expensive but we were made to feel special and the food was wonderful. Alas, most things have changed as we found out on this occasion. I booked online for lunch for in July for Saturday Sep. Gone is the set lunch and the efficient service. We were seated next to a group of ladies and a baby who were being very attentively served. After a considerable delay my starter arrived consisting of smoked mackerel pate and this came without toast or bread. As main course we both had halibut and this was served with an attempt at a crusty top which didn't work. Cooking the crust properly would have overcooked the fish so the compromise was a half cooked crust. The potato accompaniment was minuscule but there were no potato sides available so we had to order chips which were hardly suitable. One of the things which have not changed is the price. These offerings were not cheap. Our conclusion was that the new owners are charging fine dining prices for a bar lunch experience
