There were just 2 in my party and we waited well over an hour. The staff is nice and friendly . The food is all you can eat. There are lots of meat choices and side choices. Drink options are water tea fruit tea. I love the variety. The only option for dessert was strawberry shortcake and it was very good.
This was my first communal dining experience and I found it interesting. I am fairly introverted, so I don 't really like being forced to converse with strangers, but we were a party of two, so I don 't think there were other seating options. We were initially told it would be an hour wait, but because they seat so many people together at the large tables it did not take long at all for us to get inside. The first passing of food was two desserts and a salad and that was strange to me. I didn 't want to miss anything, so I took some of the banana pudding and just kept it on a separate plate to eat at the end of my meal. The other food tasted okay. My friend is a regular diner here and admitted the meal was only a 6.5. Meatloaf did not look appetizing when it came around, so I passed. The fried chicken was good. The cornbread lacked sweetness for me, but so did the sweet tea, which was more disappointing. The Mac and cheese was not baked, which threw me off guard a little bit, but the taste was fine. The corn pudding was pretty good. They did regularly check on our table to see if we needed more of anything, which was nice. Overall I am glad to have experienced it and I do think I would return for a different menu to give it another try.
Monelle's was definitely good. People in Nashville suggested it but never told us what type of restaurant it was. It's a family style restaurant a TRUE family style. You sit with other parties share the meal. They usually have a menu of the day they serve all you can eat of those items only. Everyone at our table were really nice. We had great conversations good food. It was a great experience I would do it again. The catfish was yummy, the chicken was tasty, the spinach lasagna was excellent. The sides were super yummy too. They serve pitchers of lemonade sweet tea of course I added both. I love half/half. And all this for only $25 it's a win win.
Love the concept! It's true family style dinning where your party is seated at a large table with other guests. We had a good experience here we came for dinner after a conference and met some other ladies that sat with us. It was good food and conversations all around. The servers bring out an abundance of dishes for you to choose from which include: homemade lemonade and sweet tea, fried chicken, corn casserole, fried okra, buttermilk biscuits and homemade preserves. My favorite dish is the catfish it was delicious, seasoned well served hot and crispy. Definitely recommend checking them out they also serve a midnight breakfast on weekends.
I was only in Nashville for the weekend and wanted to check out some of the more popular spots, and this restaurant was talked about a lot, so I came to check it out. When I walked in, there was no line, and I had to wait for some other patrons to come in to share the table. I was seated with a couple from the area, and the family style dining experience began. This was my first time eating family style, and it was cool. They started with a plate of bread-biscuits and cornbread with some butter and jelly. Soon after, another couple joined the table, and that completed our table for the night. Throughout the evening, we shared plates of fried chicken, mac and cheese, fried fish, string beans, fried okra bits, coleslaw, baked beans, etc... We had big jugs of sweet and unsweetened iced tea, lemonade, and water. For dessert, they only offered one option of something like a strawberry casserole that was just OK. I definitely felt like they should've had more dessert options. I loved the concept because you can taste more than one thing and then take more of what you like. The staff were very friendly and the experience was very affordable.
