Helen's Hot Chicken - Nashville

I ordered a whiting fish sandwich and a side of potato salad (my usual) the serving size is always filling and usually includes 2 large filets fried to perfection. The potato salad I ordered was about 2 tablespoons but I let the young man working know they must have gotten down to the last bit when they prepared the side and he kindly replaced it without hesitation. The fish is well seasoned and perfectly crisp and the potato salad was a delicious I ate the 2 tablespoons and the replaced side lol. I had enough food to eat in a second setting, it was great and a real Nashville staple although I hear there are other locations I don’t think they can compare to the Jefferson st location.

Order the hot chicken sandwich with backed beans…sandwich was decent…. Baked beans were over powered with bbq sauce Fried fish and fried shrimp is where the real problem was! They forgot our fries on the order …. Fish and shrimp were salty, oily and soggy!!! No cocktail sauce in an establishment that serves shrimp…. 12pc Shrimp alone was $20 fish was $6 for one 6oz fillet Whole meal was $52 for sad, salty, soggy food do not recommend this establishment

Placed an order online 30 minutes before closing. Arrived 15 minutes before closing to a locked door. Knocked on the door and was rudely greeted by a large woman who said that it was too late, they closed early ... I suppose these people don 't adhere to posted business hours. I wonder if the owners are aware of the laziness at this establishment and loss of potential return customers.
