Sandwich did not have much meat on it at all for the price either. Potato salad was just ok and that was the highlight of the meal. Will certainly not be returning! Massive waste of $20
This place stays busy. The service is fairly quick for the amount of people coming in and out. Food overall was very good.
51st deli is one of those places that makes Nashville feel like home. Nothing would make me happier than to be 80 years old and come back to Nashville for the first time in decades and see that 51st deli is still kickin.
I got a latte that was selicious. My husband got the hot chicken and waffles. He said he didn't really care for the waffle (Belgian style waffle) because it was spongy but the chicken carried the dish because it was so good. When we ordered we were almost the only people in there on a Sunday around 9 am but soon after we ordered it filled up and the line was almost the length of the store! So they must be doing something right! It is a good spot to check out.
This place is always busy with a steady stream of cars people coming and picking up. We stopped and ate here (outside) last Sunday and I will definitely come back. My husband and I split two sandwiches The West Nasty (breaded chicken breast jalapeno bacon sabi sauce) and the 51st Philly (rib eye provolone peppers). Both were equally good and I would order both again. The sabi sauce is so good that I would request it be added to all sandwiches or at least get it on the side which I did the second time we ate here. To come to a restaurant twice in a month with so many options in the city is a great testament.
