Cafe De Laos Napier

This restaurant is my absolute favorite and offers the best Thai food I’ve tasted in Hawkes Bay! The staff are friendly and provide excellent service. They always seem to remember me when I visit from overseas. The dishes are simply amazing! My top picks are the Pad Ped Crispy Pork and the Cafe De Loas Special!

I had dinner here, and it was fantastic. The service was friendly and attentive. However, one dish held it back from a higher rating. We ordered the Tom Kha Gai, which we always look for on menus, and it was excellent. I also enjoyed a spicy beef salad that was truly amazing—definitely the best thing I tried in Napier. It was incredibly fresh with a perfect spicy kick. My partner had a duck dish with orange sauce, which was honestly a bit odd and the only disappointing part of our meal. Still, I’d recommend trying it for the unique experience. Overall, it's a great place serving high-quality Thai food; just steer clear of the duck.

This café specializes in Laos and Thai cuisine. We tried several dishes, including seafood soup noodles, pineapple rice, pork rice with oyster sauce, fried beef rice, and onion ginger pork rice. The food was delightful, and the prices were quite reasonable.

Excellent food. Service is ok you have to be a little patient as there is usually a good crowd. Food is worth the wait. And service is friendly. I eat out around 3 times a week and have been here on several occasions recently.
