Abc Country Restaurant - Nanaimo

I stopped for breakfast and noticed they had a buffet. Unfortunately the selection was scant for a buffet. The potatoes are hash browns were deep fried and unappealing. The croissants were however fresh and very light and Flaky and we're delicious. They had some bacon wrapped mini dogs that were actually quite tasty. The breakfast was saved by the fact that they make you a custom omelet which was quite good. The staff was very nice and I sat on the patio on a beautiful day. Apparently there's a more substantial Buffet at lunch time which is the reason I actually chose the buffet as I had stopped previously on another ABC and the luncheon was quite good. Coffee was tasty but pricey. It's close to the highway and as I was on my way to Courtenay BC it was convenient.

Stopped here with my family for a quick lunch. Food is fine; not great, not bad. Service was great and friendly.

We had a lunch buffet with our car club at this ABC restaurant. Everyone was pleased with the food and service in general and the price was reasonable. They had a nice separate room that easily accommodated us (about 30 people) and there was far more food put out than we needed. Parking was plentiful and the washrooms were clean. I would score this restaurant halfway between "Average" and "Very Good".

Under a bit of a time crunch so we dropped in here next to the gas station where I filled up. My wife's Rueben was mediocre and no mustard; my breakfast was poor. The sausages were hard and dry and had to force the knife through. The hashbrowns were mostly undercooked. Would have sent back but had already waited almost 45 minutes to get service and food. Last time here!

We stopped for dinner tonight (Thursday) and they run a seniors special Tuesday's and Thursday's so there were quite a few Seniors there. The atmosphere is warm and cozy, and small individual lamps on each table give an intimate feel. We were seated right way and our order taken. The waitress was very pleasant and efficient. Our food came in a reasonable amount of time and we both enjoyed our dinner (Pulled Pork Mac'nCheese and Fish and Chips). It's not a fancy restaurant, home style food, large portions for a fair price and located close to the Woodgrove Mall.
