(Put it this way- we had once a server at a place in Richmond VA come back to confirm the quantities of our order because the Sushi Church noticed that there are only 4 of us at the table... ! As usual we crushed everything! But that was much better than our normal place in CO (which was clear that we know VA natives VA and especially OBX has better seafood than our assumed landlocked condition. But it really exceeded our assumptions. The salmon was fresh, buttery soft and tasteful. My daughter found a new Fave in the Snapper and left me with the whole aal I took fortunately. I don't make roles (sushi and nigiri only, but my Fam and our son GF really liked them all! The tuna (ahi and yellowfin amazing! They only take off (at least now and it was all perfectly packed and they made sure we had a lot of ginger, soya and their really good wasabi! Sometimes Wasabi is nothing but to burn... but her Wasabi actually adds to the taste. We miss the flocculent sea salt on the edamame, but they were not contaminated at all. Pretty delicious! Maybe we order again this week while we are here! If you're really good for some sushi and don't mind picking up, I highly recommend!
I went in last week for dinner, because its tucked in the side of OBX mall it can be overlooked) I had not ate here since having major heart surgery, wow! I was so pleasantly surprised at how good the food still was, with new heart valves, its important to watch how I eat, so the delicious healthy vegetable alternatives were great, but I will admit I did eat the spring rolls... and the hibachi rice.. yummy, and NOT overly greasy, and obviously the oil is fresh, told sushi was awesome as well.. I am glad for the treat from my daughter, I am hooked and cant wait to enjoy again soon.. I was sad I missed the lunch hours of operation for the prices seemed so good especially for those on a budget, but there 's always tomorrow.. I definitely recommend stopping in lunch or a nice dinner, you won 't regret it, 5 plus stars keep up the great dining experience, it 's a welcomed reprieve from just a seafood meal at the many restaurants. And by the way, our server that night, was awesome, she kept our drinks filled and checked on us thru out without doing so to many times.. so kudos to the staff, and more to our waitress..
The sushi, sashimi and rice were all amazing. We were able to try some new things like eel, uni, red snapper, mackerel and others that we really enjoyed! The tamago and the masago were also very delicious. The service was friendly and quick, always refilling our glasses and making sure we were satisfied. It is a small restaurant so there might be a wait on a busy night but all in all would recommend.
Great sushi. I had the Taiko roll and the Sunset roll. Both were good, but the Taiko roll was top notch. The decor is lacking, but it's nice for a strip mall restaurant. The portions of everything except for sushi were good sized. Every member big our party was satisfied. We will definitely be returning next year.
What a fantastic sushi experience! All the sushi rolls were fresh and absolutely wonderful. The Tempura Dragon Roll was particularly delicious, featuring beautifully crispy tempura shrimp. The summer roll was good too, but just a heads up—the crab stick can be quite sharp! The pork gyoza, which were steamed, had amazing flavors and came with a lovely dipping sauce. We appreciate this restaurant's efforts to ensure safety by offering takeout only. We will definitely be back the next time we're in Nags Head!
