17th Street Barbecue - Murphysboro

The food was rather forgettable, which is disappointing because I had an amazing experience here about two years ago. The pimento cheese was not great and detracted from the burger I ordered. The highlight of the meal was definitely the fried pickles; they were lightly battered and paired well with the delicious ranch dressing. While the ribs had good flavor, the baked beans tasted like they were straight from a can. The service was good, but it felt like a long wait for just average food.

I never realized how amazing fried dill pickle chips could be until now. They are absolutely delicious! The BBQ was excellent, and the homemade strawberry shortcake was fantastic as well. You definitely won't regret visiting this place!

One of the best barbecue restaurants in the area. Try the fried pickles, they are a favorite. Perfectly seasoned and cooked: they are not greasy. Make sure you finish your meal with the homemade strawberry shortcake or bread pudding. They are excellent!

Absolutely best BBQ in my opinion! We love the option of ordering online and picking up food to go. The food is always hot and ready unless it's Mother's day weekend but that's to be expected. 90% of the time they get your order correct in the bag which isn't bad odds. The pork BBQ is delicious and all sides are rather large in serving and made well. We will remain 17th Street customers for the foreseeable future.
