Far East - Murfreesboro

For us regulars, coming to Far East over the last 30 years, the food is not the same as it?s always been. The egg rolls are different. The sweet noodles aren?t the same. The batter on the mushrooms is different. The sweet and sour pork chicken is not prepared the same. There was no vegetables mixed in. I truly hope the new owners decide to go back to the original, old recipes. If not, unfortunately, I will not be back : Far East has always been my favorite restaurant. I will miss the old recipes!

As of July 1st, the restaurant is under new management. The extra-large egg rolls have now been changed to a standard size, and the cream cheese wontons have been replaced with crab rangoon. There are a few changes here and there, and the menu now reflects what you would expect from a small takeout place. Some items appear to have increased in price. Although the staff is different, they are very friendly. We ordered several dishes to sample, and the fresh rolls, which contained fresh herbs, were quite tasty. They even let us try their coconut ice cream, which was excellent. Overall, we were very pleased with both the food and the service.

The service here is exceptional, and the food is absolutely delicious! This was my first visit, and I will certainly return. If you haven't experienced this hidden gem yet, you need to! It's no surprise that this restaurant was voted the best Chinese cuisine in 2020 and 2021, and it deserves the title again this year! I can't wait to come back! So tasty!

What can I say about this restaurant? It's truly one of a kind! Their Thai dishes are outstanding, and their Chinese cuisine is the best I've ever tasted. And those egg rolls—huge, like Texas—are absolutely fantastic! There will never be another place quite like Far East.
