Halligans - Mullingar

I was in NY for work and found myself in Haverstraw at the end of a long day and needing to return to my hotel in Long Island. I really wanted a beer and some dinner before heading back. I got on Yelp! and found a spot I wanted to try. I 'm a sucker for Irish pubs and wasn 't disappointed. I came in with a coworker around 5 PM and we sat at the bar, ordered a local beer off the tap and put in order for some fish and chips. I was pleased with the service we received. It was what I expected for a local spot like this. By like this I mean that small spot on the end of a strip mall. It 'd be easy to miss this if you weren 't really looking for it. I also enjoyed overhearing some of the chatter from some locals who were seated together at the other end of the bar. I like finding those spots that have regulars! I gotta say, the fish and chips though were on point! At least for me. I live in Oklahoma, we 're not exactly known for our fish and chips. This to me though was what I wanted and was glad to have it, again, with a local beer on tap! Overall I had a nice experience and was happy with what I had for my trip back through NYC and onto LI. I 'm glad I popped in here! Enjoy!

Ok. So I 've been a customer for quite some time now. This place is my new Cheers . Now do yourself a favor and swing by for the short rib tacos. It 's on my last meal list!!!! Holy cow are they incredible.

We love going here on wing night. They have several flavors to choose from, but our favorites are Jalapeño Ranch, Garlic Parmesan and Sesame Ginger. The service is always great and the wings always crispy. Be prepared for a crowd and a bit of a wait on wing night, though. That's to be expected when they have such delicious wings! Wing night changes during football season, so you might want to call to double check. I highly recommend checking this place out if you happen to be in the area.

My friends and I stated going to Halligans about once a week for about 2 months. We really enjoy it and I can't leave until I order potato skin (no bacon) and the warm pretzels. PROS : FRIENDLY staff! Great service Good food Great Happy Hour 2 for 1 beers, including GUINNESS Clean Well Kalua Meryl is a fantastic,nice, bartender! CONS: No credit cards. They have an ATM. (cost $1.50 transaction fee. Which is very inexpensive) Juke box could be louder especially on Fridays. Always ask them to put it on. Overall I love this place, we always have fun. Never once had bad food, drinks or service. I never give a 5, it would have to be the best thing ever. A strong 4 stars for Halligans!
