Cafe Munchner Freiheit - München

My mum was craving for cake and saw the wide variety that Cafe Munchner Freiheit was offering, so she ordered some at the counter and we were told to go get a table. Once we found a table on the terrace, we were told that we couldn't sit there because I was eating an ice-cream, that I bought at their place, but I took it "to go" so I wasn't allowed to sit on their terrace, even though my mum was going to order something so eat and drink on the terrace. We were told that we could either stay at their other smaller, less nicer terrace or at the park right in front of the cafe. We went for the small terrace since my mum would need a table to properly eat and were told again that we couldn't sit there as well. It was honestly humiliating to be chased twice, they showed no flexibility.

We had several times breakfast here. The service is good and the staff very friendly. Good value for money. Also the cakes and ice cream is very delicious. You can either sit outside or inside on several floors.

Loyal customer in this convenient coffee house. Should modernise the decor and improve the cakes. My last cake was rather dry and not worth the calories. Coffee is good and service not attentive and rather rude.

I've always liked to go the CMF for breakfast or brunch. There aren't many places in Munich where you can do that, as Bavarians as a rule don't believe in breakfasting.For a Bavarian restaurant/cafe they have a nice selection of different dishes from fried eggs to scrambled eggs or omlets.They also have a nice continental breakfast variety, optionally with boiled eggs in a glass. An interesting way to serve boiled eggs.Prices are reasonable for Munich.Nice place to stop for an afternoon coffee and Torte. Weather permitting you can sit outside too.Service is typically Bavarian and can be mis-interpretted as unfriendly by people who aren't familiar with local serving staff.

This cafe offers a wide variety of cakes and also their ice cream is one of the best in Munich. It is located at the Münchner Freiheit. There is a possibility to sit inside, which I never did. Best is to sit outside and enjoy watching the people. If you have children to can play at the playground next to the terrace.
