Grumpy Troll Brew Pub - Mount Horeb

I took my Grandson. Daughter and son in law after going through Cave Of The Mounds to your establishment for lunch. Food, service, waitress, beer was absolutely fantastic!!! We are from Rockford Illinois yuck). I wish we lived in the area of Mount Horeb, nice town. I had homemade clam chowder soup and homemade cornbread muffin, that was the best soup and muffin I have ever had. My 7 year old grandson said” papa that’s the best burger and fries I’ve ever had anywhere. My daughter and son in law said pretty much the same comments. Our waitress was a very sweet young lady and great at her job. Our bill was about $63. I gave her a $20 tip because she was so good at her job. I wish we lived closer so I could visit there frequently. Again, AWESOME FOOD, BEER, AND SERVICE. WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!!!!!

The food tastes excellent, and the price is pretty reasonable. The reason I rated Grumpy Troll 2 stars is I ordered a burger and made sure to request an impossible/beyond patty, and I said the $1.50 charge was fine. I was charged for the paddy, but I didn’t realize it was beef until the next day, when my stomach rebelled (I can’t eat meat). I’m disappointed, since the last time I was there this didn’t happen and I usually enjoy going here. Not sure if I will be back.

4-19-24The 3 rating is just for my order. I ordered the fish taco which was actually a thin slice of fish served in a hoagie bun. I did not enjoy it at all. My side was broccoli which was quite cool. I would suggest a taco is a taco. Bread does not compute.With that being said, I believe this is a one time occurrence. The other two with me really enjoyed their food. Our waitress was a sweetheart. My husband had the root beer and loved it. Still one of our favorites in Mt Horeb
