One of my favorite things about moving to Mount Gilead. Everyone that works here has been so kind every visit and the food and drinks have all been great!
What a delightful experience! This place randomly popped up in my Facebook feed. The pictures I saw made it look so quaint and charming I wanted to give it a try. I drove over an hour to get here and must say it was well worth it! The cafe is located in what I understand was formerly a hardware store. I love historic buildings, and always appreciate when they are well preserved. The exposed brick walls, aged hardwood floors, and tin tile ceiling transports you back to a time gone by. The food and coffee were delicious! I had an iced mocha, which was not on the menu but they created wonderfully, and a club sandwich. The prices are reasonable and the staff is super kind and courteous. This may be my new favorite out-of-town coffee shop!
In town this past weekend and had breakfast here. The atmosphere is great, the business used to be the local hardware store. Food was simple, really good and a very fair price. Coffee is the specialty, and my wife really enjoyed her cup. A must stop and see when in Mt. Gilead.
My wife and I have had good breakfasts and lunches previously. On this occasion (4/24/2024, 12:20 pm) stopped in alone for lunch. Young man behind counter said hello. Young lady from the kitchen area smiled. That was all the interaction I experienced with any of the staff- no invitation to sit, no menu, nothing. One other customer present receiving a carry out order. After 10 minutes, when I got up to leave and put on my jacket, no other customers were present and still no response from the staff. What has happened to this business?
