The Pizza Shop - Mount Dora

The best NY pizza connection. Pizza, calzones and hot Italian subs are delicious. Do not expect waiting staff, that is strictly a pizza joint, not a sitting restaurant. But they have a few tables where you can sit and eat.

We had pizza and Stromboli several times from here and it was pretty good. I tried the Aubergine Parmesan with spaghetti and it wasn't very good. The eggplant had simple bread crumbs without a wort at all. Only half melted cheese and no sauce there was some sauce on spaghetti, but not much. I added the sauce of my men Stromboli and some garlic powder and Italian spices and I could eat it. I wouldn't order that again.

We had a pizza gift and we were all too busy to take the time to go to 1905 pizza in Apopka, where you can get a real New York pizza. After a fast Google search we decided to try The Pizza Shop. Honestly, I don't like to give someone a bad review, but whoever thinks this is New York-style pizza was never in NYC. Take it from a Brooklyn girl? NYC Pizza Kruste gets its taste of good Italian olive oil and the right balance of salt. It is not a perfect circle because it is hand-stretched, and very thin, an important part of the technique in terms of texture. After baking the crust have some bubbles that are in the oven and some dark spots. It will be delicate, but crunchy, so if you fold a slice, the crust will crack. The sauce is made from scratches with high quality Italian tomatoes, high quality olive oil, garlic, fresh basil and a hint of oregano. The cheese is hand-baked whole milk (buffalo is beaten) mozzarella, which has taste and tastes well, without becoming strict. It should be finished with a sprinkle from Parmigiano Reggiano. The best cakes have added a little fresh basil when it comes from the oven. While the photos on The Pizza Shop website looked good, we knew it was wrong when we opened the box. A perfect circle of bright, too thick dough. It was kind of like cracker dough in taste. No crust here. The sauce was practically not existent, so I can't really tell about the taste, but I didn't notice any taste. The cheese was hard and chewing and cordy, and it squeezed against our teeth, the way cheese cures. I was worried about the choke. I ate a piece because I was hungry, but I couldn't do it through the second piece. It was terrible.

For the first time tried. Order with some vegetables, extra sausage. Pizza came with some vegetables and sausage was very difficult to find on the pizza. Definitely not extra sausage and questionable, although a normal amount of sausage. Crust was okay. Total disappointing.

Found a pizza place in Mount Dora that I will utilize from now on when pizza is the desired item! Can?t put a specific attribute on the pizza other than overall it?s tastes better and GOOD crust. Had it delivered and will check out the restaurant in person assuming it?s also dine-in.
