I came to this bakery with a theological question about its name, but never mind! The café is at the lower end of Gawler St, away from the crowds and pleasantly quiet. The setting is pleasant with seating for about 20 at small tables facing out to the street through a large window. There is outdoors seating as well. The bakery serves morning and afternoon teas and lunches; we come for our usual afternoon cuppa. Supplies seem to be down at this time of day, but there is a moderate supply of cake. Our order is quickly and efficiently served to our table in a friendly way. The drinks are to order and the raspberry and coconut macaroon cake is delicious. A good place to stop.
Lunchtime. Focaccia's are as good as I remember them from previous visits. Coffee great. Friend loved her hot chocolate.
Had one of the nicest chicken pies I've ever had here. The food is GOOD, the coffee not bad and the staff are friendly. There are a number of bakeries in the hills now but this has to be far and away one of the best ones.
Numerous visits over the last few years have been a highlight of Mount Barker. A bakery that has a great line in Pies, cakes, bread etc. and have won so many blue ribbons at the Royal Adelaide Show that it is no surprise that their award winning vanilla slices and custard tarts are standouts, mind you, the assortment of meat / chicken / lamb pies etc are also so good as well. The bakery is on the premises and that means FRESH food............ Coffee is great and a good assortment of cold drinks / milks etc. We also visit their other establishments such as the one in Littlehampton which is conveniently open on a Sunday and has the same cheerful good service.
