Bbq Hill Chinese - Mount Barker

We visited for lunch today, marking our first time since the restaurant's reopening. The service was excellent, provided by a lovely young waitress. The food was cooked to perfection; I’ve never had better Lemon Chicken! We also enjoyed a delicious and generously-sized Special Fried Rice and Garlic Prawns, along with Spring Rolls—all at reasonable prices! We will definitely be back!

Inconsistent. I really enjoy the crispy pork with rice, but it often comes without any vegetables, and sometimes the rice is too sticky or there's not enough of it. There are times when I suspect the crispy pork may have been made the day before if it's not freshly cooked that day. Today, I noticed that the fish section wasn’t refilled. Overall, the food is good, but the portions can be inconsistent, there are often no vegetables, and the crispy pork isn’t always made fresh.

Where is Fai, the amazing waiter with the wonderful personality? What has happened to the food? I ordered crispy beef and received something that resembled a chewy towel, and it came at a ridiculous price! The stir-fried vegetables with cashews? Not a single cashew in sight! The prawn crackers were soft! I asked for a new bag, hoping for crispy crackers, but unfortunately, the next bag was just as disappointing. I was hoping the rest of my meal would redeem the earlier mistakes, but that wasn’t the case either. I really miss the old owners and the delicious food they served. I won’t be coming back, and I wouldn’t recommend it to my friends either.

Friendly staff, but ordered honey chicken and the sauce seemed only honey, it had the consistency of straight honey. Also the sweet and acidic sauce was not great, no vegetables in it. The large fried rice seemed too small.

We walked in, very small restaurant. We were never offered drinks. Ordered 2 meals plus rice to share. Rice came out in a bowl will large chip out of it. When i asked for a plate so we could share the waiter didnt said use our tiny side plates. The chicken dish didnt taste fresh and the fried beef dish was chewy, and had more batter on it then anything. Both dishes tasted like they were precooked and flash fried to serve. Will never go back, disgusting!
