American Grill - Mount Barker

Very nice food. Meat is so delicate and tasty. Filling foam water for $7 is a great idea and deserts are also not bad. Very recommended for every meal.

Standard American bbq, the server Nins was very helpful and attentive though.

We were really looking forward to trying the food today (Saturday 23rd Feb 2019) but we're turned away at 1.47 pm as they had shut the kitchen at 1.45 pm. We have heard good things but want to make sure that the management is aware of this. We will come back, to endeavour to try again, we're just disappointed in the service today.

Great food service, very clean with authentic American feel. Top marks for that guys. A bit more 'Americana ' on the blank walls would add to that though. Not a 'Greasy Spoon 'type of place. Food was of excellent quality with flavors to match. Would have given another star were it not for the serving size and price. I 've seen how Americans eat and they might lose a few pounds here. Will be back because of the quality not the quantity.

Staff and appearance first rate. Barbeque sauce lacked zip... and spiciness. Pork ribs cooked too fast and were a bit chewy. Brisket good flavor but sliced way too thick. Should be thin slices so bbq sauce can be slathered over it. Mac and cheese, tasted like it was out of a box . Could be sharper cheese, and would be better if it were baked in larger batches (IN A PAN) with browned off cheesy top. Cole slaw, same as the mac and cheese out of a bottle.. Easy to make mayo and not expensive. Good customer service. Maybe I was expecting too much from the food, having lived in southern USA for many years.
