Gar Lok - Mosman Park

Gar Lok is easy to miss - it's right down the road from where I live, and for ages I thought it was an old, shut-up shop.

Don't give up if you think the joint looks shut, it's full of treasure on the inside! Indeed it isFor the price, the food is pretty good.

This restaurant was one of the best Chinese restaurants in Perth for over 25 years. The food was legendary as was the friendliness of the owner and staff. Since the change of ownership the difference is stark. Have tried it on two occasions since the change and never again.I do hope there is a change of chef. Not one of the three other people with me enjoyed any of the dishes.

There really isn't anything positive I can say. I was hoping that behind the terrible exterior was going to be a hidden gem. How wrong can one person be! The staff disinterested, the decor inside was not much better than out. As for the food, the fried rice was boiled and the two meat dishes swam in awful sauce and could of been anything. The texture and flavour certainly weren't the beef and chicken we ordered.

Small restaurant next to Stirling Hwy in Mosman Park. Don't eat in, it's small and dark. Friendly staff and the food is good. Good price range as well
