フィードバックを提供するWent back to the Fort after several years. Food was way overpriced for what you got. Atmosphere is cheesy. Service is just average. A place for tourists and Japanese businessmen to go.
Returned to the Fort after ten years and expected to have another enjoyable evening. Atmosphere and food was excellent. However, service was poor because the wait staff was spread too thin. As an restaurant, I expected appropriate service. Also the person taking the order, continually attempted to 'Up sell '.
The Fort is one of the first places that comes to mind when someone seeks a truly unique Colorado dining experience. The exterior of the restaurant is a replica of Bents Fort, and as you enter the courtyard, you feel as if you’re stepping back into the Old West. However, once you walk inside, that illusion dissipates quickly as the mouthwatering aromas from the kitchen fill the air, making your taste buds tingle with anticipation. The menu is heavily focused on game, featuring tantalizing options like buffalo and quail, among others. The Fort is an excellent choice for bringing out-of-town friends to share a taste of the Old West or simply for a delightful meal just for yourself.
Two out of the four meals we ordered were served cold. Ever tried cold Buffalo Prime Rib? It’s absolutely terrible! At $39 per plate, it feels like a total rip-off. This place is highly overrated! You'll have a much better experience grabbing some warm fast food, then driving up to the mountains to enjoy the ambiance — and you’ll save about $240 in the process!
We started with three appetizers: buffalo empanadas, rattlesnake cake, and rocky mountain oysters. The rattlesnake cake was enjoyable, but I'm not sure it was worth its $25 price tag. The empanadas were doughy and lacking in flavor, and I opted not to try the oysters. Our meal included bread and salad. Sadly, the bread was tough and seemed to be previously frozen. On the plus side, the salad was decent and featured a unique addition—ginger. For my main course, I ordered the game plate. The meats were cooked as requested and were quite tasty, but the sides were uninspired and tasteless, which detracted from the main dish. We also sampled three desserts: chocolate crème brûlée, panna cotta, and caramel brownie. The panna cotta was terrible, the crème brûlée was bland, and the brownie was forgettable. Overall, I wouldn't recommend this restaurant, especially with so many excellent dining options in Denver.
