Burke's Motor Inn - Morris

The whole place is yuck. Food, service, prices and cleanliness. They need to cook better, clean better, and hire more friendly staff.

I’m adding this place as a restaurant since their other listing only shows as a bar. While the bar is definitely out back, the restaurant deserves recognition! Who would have guessed that the former Gasthaus Gutenburger would be hiding in Morris? They may not have the big Friday buffet that the Gutenburger was famous for, but they offer a delightful and varied selection of classic dishes. Unfortunately, I played it safe and opted for the chicken club instead of the adventurous grilled cheese and peanut butter sandwich. The sandwich was well-prepared, featuring excellent rye bread and tender chicken, though I could have used a bit more bacon. The portion of fries was generous and appeared to be hand-cut. The BLT was also quite delicious. The soup of the day, beef vegetable, was rich and hearty. The staff were incredibly friendly, ready to assist with anything you need. They also have a variety of freshly baked pies for dessert, but we were too full to indulge, so we settled for some delicious freshly baked chocolate chip cookies. Overall, it's a fantastic little stop with very reasonable prices!

This place offers the best breakfast and service I've ever experienced. The staff is friendly, the service is quick, and the prices are fantastic—you really get your money's worth!
