We started our meal by sharing the cos lettuce, tartare, and scallops with chorizo as appetizers. Unfortunately, the scallops were quite disappointing; they were small, and the chorizo pieces were equally tiny and overwhelmed by the sauce. The Johannes Dory filet was visually appealing, but the entrecôte lacked flavor. For dessert, the crepe with lemon and sugar was delicious. However, the cheese plate was underwhelming, consisting of just three pieces of the same cheese, served with some jam and a small bowl of mixed greens which we ordered in addition to our main dishes. The drink selection was nice. The most disappointing aspect of the experience was the restroom situation, as it was accessible only through the kitchen and dishwashing area. Dining should not involve navigating through a cluttered space, especially with the restroom lights not working and having to use a flashlight. It was a nice experience trying the restaurant, but I probably won't return.
Really good French cuisine, beautiful small restaurant large ambiente. would recommend to try it.
Unfortunately, the food did not meet our expectations. We ordered the classic French onion soup, which was watery and had an overwhelming vinegar smell; it contained only a few pieces of chopped carrots and mushrooms, which was quite bizarre. The scallops tasted like frozen balls rather than fresh seafood. The steak Béarnaise was next; the quality of the eye fillet was acceptable, but the Scotch fillet seemed questionable, as if it had been cooked incorrectly, and the Béarnaise sauce was mediocre at best. For dessert, we chose the crème brûlée and chocolate mousse on a Breton sable base. The brûlée was served warm, and the mousse tasted like it came from a package, with a strong artificial flavor. The sable Breton base was just a small, hard piece at the bottom of the mousse. I also attempted to order a royale from the menu, but they were out of cassis. My husband ordered a dessert wine that never arrived, so he had to go find it himself after our second inquiry to the waiting staff went unanswered. This restaurant charges premium prices, but the food and service do not reflect that. The chef claims to have worked in Michelin-starred establishments since he was 14, but it certainly didn't feel that way. Other diners may have had a different experience, but we will continue our search for a genuine French bistro, as this was not worth the cost.
The atmosphere is fantastic, and the French cuisine is genuinely authentic. It's an intimate and traditional setting. I absolutely love it!
