フィードバックを提供するI love Mexican food, but I can't stand pretentious Mexican restaurants that charge you a fortune for what's simple, ordinary food. Le Roi du Taco is my ideal Mexican restaurant: simple, excellent food at reasonable prices. My only complaint is that they have no alcohol license. Your Hibiscus drink is great, but I still have a beer.
Food was good, but service wasn't so great. I know it's kovid and people don't understand staying 2 meters apart or that they don't know that the restaurant is in full capacity. But you don't need to scream people who just went to the restaurant. Would come back for food by ordering an app.
It's not a fancy place but the food is always fresh and delicious. The tortilla soup is excellent, the tacos al pastor are the best ones I could find in Montreal (they come with the slices of pineapple without having to make a special request! , their tamales are delicious... as are other dishes I have tried here.
This place has a front entrance from Jean-Talon Street and a back one from the Jean-Talon market. We stopped by for a quick lunc and ordered the mixed grill which turned out to be a generous portion, tasty and delicious at a bargain price in a friendly atmosphere. Service is courteous and efficient. There is a wide array of Mexican specialties available on the menu and you can buy some products including homemade sauces and tortillas (flour and corn). Definitely worth a return visit.
We were on the market and thought here to be very good Mexican cuisine. Very friendly service and cheap prices. You also have a good Mexican market for food here.
