Cafe Olimpico - Vieux-Montreal

Stopped in after a lovely lunch at a local restaurant for coffee with my daughter. The line was short (shorter than the other location!) and the service was friendly and quick. Prices here are surprisingly reasonable and the coffees are hot and delicious!The atmosphere is nice and I love the tin ceiling and the windows overlooking the walkways and cobblestone streets! This coffee shop leads into another store, and I recommend that after your coffee take the time to wander through the shop in the back and further into the hotel lobby areas of the William Gray Hotel - stunning!

Non potevo crederci: un caffè napoletano DOC a Montreal. Entriamo in questo piccolo bar con aria abbastanza scettica e chiediamo un espresso. L'aspetto non male, cremoso e corto ed il profumo ci inducono ad ordinarne per tutta la comitiva in viaggio. Sorpresa: un ottimo caffè! Il ragazzo al bancone è di origini italianissime e sembra compiacersi di avere dei "connazionali" nel suo bar. Dopo i nostri sentiti complimenti promettiamo di tornare l'indomani per la colazione. Stamattina ciambellone (come quello della nonna) e cappuccino da far invidia ai migliori bar della capitale. Complimenti! Ci vediamo domattina!!!

Barista mentioned that the espresso is a bit of a proprietary roast. Certainly good flavour and top notch. Pastries also very good. With the espresso roast they have the affogado would be very good! Strongly recommend for coffee lovers and snobs alike.

Situated in the William Gray Hotel, this cafe is the perfect place for great coffee. Friendly staff make you feel welcome. There is a good selection of sweets to satisfy your appetite and make this a perfect place for a caffeine fix. Don't miss it!

I visited the Olimpico because of its great location to my hotel. My coffee, which was served in a glass, was very good. There were a few croissants and two other types of pastries to choose from. There were also two different types of coffee cakes. The server was excellent and seemed very knowledgeable about how to make specialty coffee drinks. The high tables are good for two people but there's not enough room for a larger group.I recommend this establishment if you're in the area, but it's not worth going out of your way to visit.
