We took pastas and pizza, the menu of the day was delicious and about 12€ (pastas filled with ham and cheese and Parmesan sauce) and the pizza was about 14€ and enough for one. They have nice ice-cream and crumbles for dessert. The staff is really nice ! I recommend it to everyone who wants to enjoy a nice meal at a reasonable price !
I had dinner with five friends at Duo last Sunday. We quickly got a table, but then the very first of long waits started. It took quite some time until one of the two waiters handed us menus. We opted for the more expensive of the two menus on offer that evening (nothing à la carte). It turned out that neither the starter nor the main dish that several of us wanted were available for various reasons. Neither was our first wine option. Then the second of the long waits started - for the first dishes. Meanwhile, we asked for ash trays and despite asking both waiter no ash tray was to be seen at all during the long evening. Finally the starters arrived and the oysters gratinés only included three oysters. Another long wait for having the dishes taken out (during which one of the waiters went smoking around the corner). The main courses were overall OK but overpriced. However, the so called "Duo of coquilles de Saint Jacques (scallops) and scampi" turned out to include only one (sic!) scallop. Then followed another much too long wait during which we had to ask for a bottle of wine as compensation for the delay - indeed we got one bottle of red, but of horrible quality. By the time we finally got our desserts (AFTER WELL OVER TWO HOURS) it turned out that one dessert was missing. Five minutes later it arrived, and was not in line with the others, i.e. the sauce was missing on the chocolate cake. Obviously made in haste. We left without ordering coffee. Despite the fact that the little square where the restaurant is located is very charming, there is absolutely no reason to visit this restaurant. Unless you want to pay too much for mediocre food with long waits and bad service.
We chose this restaurant because it looked a bit upmarket & seemed to have a good menu. What a mistake. The restaurant was quiet & we waited nearly an hour for the entrées to arrive. They were cold but we were hungry & ate them. Very poor quality food. After another 50 minutes my son went off to find the waitress who said they were just being finished off. 20 minutes later she arrived again to say they were on their way. I told her not to bother but she ran off & 2 minutes later our main meals arrived. They were stone cold & looked revolting. We all ordered salmon which is not hard to cook. I left money for the wine & we all walked out.The owner of the restaurant was there entertaining his friends. I am sure if he put more time into managing his restaurant he would not have people leaving without paying for food. Give this on a miss.
Terrible communication, false expectations, overpriced and sorely disappointing food.I organised a dinner for 12 people following a professional meeting at Le Corum. I had contacted the restaurant a month in advance, made a 50% deposit on our meals and provided a list of our orders a week in advance – meals including wine were 50 euros. I had also indicated that we had 5 vegetarians in the group and was assured that this was not a problem. Despite these preparations upon our arrival we had to reorder our meals the options of which had subsequently been changed. The vegetarian food was very much an afterthought – quickly and relatively thoughtlessly prepared, which was very disappointing for the cost and anticipated calibre of the restaurant. The ‘starter’ was literally scrambled eggs with a few pistachios thrown over it, which went largely uneaten. I felt quite embarrassed for my vegetarian guests at the lack of attention. In contacting the restaurant after our poor experience I was told that the refrigerator had broken the night before resulting in the need to change meals, though I still do not quite understand how this so terribly affected the vegetarian ones. I received apologies from the manager (Luisa) that I would receive a discount which proved empty and not forthcoming. Based on these experiences I can only resort to a public review and hope that no one else will have such a terrible and embarrassing experience.
This restaurant need a lot of work, we went to this place and it was a menu for 33 Euros, we sat down and we told we had a to choose meat or fish, as the chef would just make what he wanted, this was a massive mistake. We received a starter of foie gras (deep fried) you could not taste the foie gras at all, it could of been anything the deep frying of such a delicate and beautiful thing was not good at all. Also our friends had a type of soup, but you could taste all it was, was blended courgette and canned squirty cream, with more squirty cream on top. Main course was even worse, we where never told what meat it was, I think it was pork or beef, but not sure, it was a slop I would not give it to a wild dog. Also in mine I had half a bulb of garlic, not good flavouring, the chef need a lot of training. The dessert was the worst a slice of melon a wedge of pineapple and a watery carton chocolate sauce, as I say again the chef knows nothing about flavours, presentation, or good food. I was so upset for the whole table, it was so awful. I would never go or recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting or living here. Once again, god awful.
