The Loyalsock - Montoursville

This is a wonderful place to grab a bite to eat and enjoy a beer. The atmosphere is lively and the staff is excellent. I will definitely be returning in the future!

This restaurant used to be a great place, but now there is a bartender named Esther who discriminates against certain customers. In 2003, she refused to serve my husband simply because she didn't like his eyes. Despite not being drunk, he was told he couldn't be served. In 2013, we attended a Halloween party at the restaurant, our first night out in a long time due to financial constraints and childcare issues. While my husband was sober and chatting with friends, Esther insisted he had to leave. Meanwhile, another patron who was visibly intoxicated was still being served. This inconsistency in treatment is unfair. On a previous visit, I witnessed a woman who was clearly intoxicated and even peed herself still being served. This double standard is unacceptable. We will not be returning to this restaurant, and we are spreading the word about how unfairly customers are treated if they are not regulars. We visited another bar after leaving, where my husband was deemed sober by the bartender. We had only three drinks each during our short time at the Loyalsock Hotel, where we were enjoying ourselves responsibly. It is not right for a bartender to refuse service based on personal bias rather than behavior. If customers are behaving well and supporting the business, they should not be unfairly targeted.
