We have dined here many times in the past few years and had great meals and service. Unfortunately, this might have been the worst dining experience ever. It started with the host not offering a greeting and when we shared we had a reservation he did not even acknowledge the reservation. He found a table, but then John, our server began our disaster. After asking about a wine selection and description of a dish he did not want wait on us and ignored us. We had to ask other wait staff for bread, salt and pepper etc after John did not bring. Very strange behavior. Makes me think this business has a new owner and does not have the high quality restaurant that we came to expect.
The views soothe the psyche. Our waiter, Reuben, made our meal even more enjoyable. We started out with cocktails, then a spicy bottle of Morgan Pinot. We shared the crab cake appetizer — perfect! Hubs had the stuffed salmon, and I had the Sand dabs. Just perfect. Two cappuccinos with dessert: crème brulee, and warm bread pudding. An absolutely perfect evening. Thanks, Reuben — we'll be back!
Dinner for four was wonderful. We were able to get a table by the window and were entertained by many seals! Delightful server, Eric, and good food. Fun way to dine on the Monterey wharf!
First time visit. The lobster was overcooked and a little rubbery unfortunately. The linguine and clams a little too salty and the shrimp Louie tasted good, however, they should have mixed in a few prawns and included iceberg lettuce. The waiter was great, friendly and very attentive. We didn't send anything g bank, not our style but I sure wanted to send the lobster back.
