Al Travato - MONTERCHI

We had lunch here at Thursday afternoon. Monterchi is a lovely little village to visit, and we can recommend to stop for lunch at this place. We had pasta with truffle, Caprese and carpaccio. All fresh and nice ingredients, accompanied by a good glass of wine. Their is also a little shop so we have bought a couple of bottles of the wine we drank during the lunch , just perfect! Really nice owners

Needing a light vegetarian lunch we enjoyed their mixed bruschetta plate I remember best the tomato with garlic the ceps with truffle slices, with a little bowl of roasted peppers in good olive oil. Vin santo with cantucci was generous, lots of biscuits, but the panna cotta with caramel sauce will be remembered the longest, just the best my guest had ever had. Interesting goodies in their shop, too.

Extreme kindness, homemade dishes and goose! we will return!

In a little square at the top of Monterchi you will find this wonderful restaurant. The food was delicious, all fresh made with local ingredients, the service was good; we found it to be the perfect spot to spend lunchtime shaded from the heat by the trees.
