When I walked in, it was evident that there had been a big function the day before, and I thought they were closed. I saw no one, but could hear voices. I discovered all the staff having their lunch in a nearby room. I asked if they were open, and they smiled and said yes. One showed us to a table by a window and got us some drinks. Then the lady chef came and asked us what we would like to eat!! No menu. So, we suggested a Spaghetti Carbonara, and a Gnocchi with cheese sauce. Sure, she said! Delicious food, EXCEPTIONAL service, and all done with a smile! WELL DONE! We shall be back.
I have often heard about this restaurant and I ate there for the first time last night. What a lovely evening we had. Seven of us ate a splendid meal. Everything was delicious. In particular, I would like to mention the Fettuccine with tomatoes and wild asparagus. What a feast. I haven't tasted anything quite like that in a long time. Service was just fine. Ample and spotless bathrooms. It is in a great position for the lovely view but you must walk up a little hill to get to the restaurant. Take your time it is well worth it. The bill is perfectly acceptable. Top class country restaurant, genuine food served in abundance, at affordable prices.
We drove from Moricone up the mountain as we'd heard this restaurant was quite special. A bit of a steep climb to the doors but well worth the effort an immaculate interior and fantastic views over the village below. The food was really special. The lovely host simply suggested antipasti to start and we happily agreed no menu by the way just discussion and a suggestion. A huge selection of dishes were wheeled to our table on a trolley (9 dishes in total for three of us! and the feast began. All excellent, fresh and tasty. We were just debating if we could manage more when the lady returned and asked what we would like next. Whilst we wondered she suggested spaghetti ragu to which we agreed. Shortly a huge platter of the dish was brought to the table and we were each served. Again, super flavour and plenty of it we all helped ourselves to more. To finish we had the most delicious panna cotta with rich chocolate sauce just sublime. Having spent a week in this part of Italy and eaten some fantastic food (we haven't had a poor meal anywhere this restaurant stands out as the most memorable and enjoyable meal of all. What a lovely place with lovely friendly people a must visit.
