The Ridge Retreat Mollymook

Had the luck to stay 2 nights in the mai with my wife in a beautiful room and own. paul and libby are great hosts. do not miss anything in paul’s brekky menu, with view of the beautiful garden especially on a bright day. the environment is just as good if not better. room: 5 service: 5 location: 5.

The room was lovely, and the restaurant offered an excellent breakfast—definitely the highlight of my stay. Overall, I had a wonderful experience!

I visited in February, and the weather was lovely, allowing us to enjoy the beach. The hosts were friendly, and the location was comfortable. The house and meals were excellent, and the pool was nice as well. We even got to meet some kookaburras! However, I have to deduct points for serenity. There were street construction works going on about 100 meters away, which I understand is not the owners' fault, but it wasn't reflected in the price. The bigger issue arose on check-out day (check-out is at 10:30). I was in our room around 9 AM, looking out at the courtyard after breakfast, when all I could hear were loud garden machines. Before I knew it, a gardener was right outside our door, and I had to quickly jump behind the bed as I wasn’t fully dressed. The balcony was private, so I’m not sure why the gardening work couldn’t start at 10:30 AM after the guests had left, allowing us to enjoy our stay as we had planned and paid for.

My wife Leonie and I had a wonderful weekend at The Ridge Retreat. The abbey is stunning, with spacious rooms that are stylishly furnished and open directly onto a terrace with views of the pool and beautifully landscaped gardens. Paul and Libby are fantastic hosts, and Paul’s breakfasts are incredible—truly the best omelets we've ever had! We highly recommend staying here and will definitely be returning. Ian and Leonie.
