El Sombrero - Mississauga

After craving Mexican food, I stumbled upon this place on Google. My mom and I ordered a Wet Burrito with chicken, Enchiladas with steak, and Mex fries. It was definitely way too much food for 2 people lol. The wet burrito was really unique and overall pretty good I never had something quite like it before! Though I will say, through this experience, I have realized I prefer my burritos with a crunchy/toasted exterior rather than one that is soggy/drenched in a tomato based sauce (salsa? . It is massive, kind of challenging to eat, warm, and comforting. The enchiladas were also pretty good but a bit too salty for my liking. Perhaps they accidentally overseasoned the steak that day. The rice and beans added a nice touch to the plate. I never expected to say this, but the Mex Fries ended up being my favourite of the dishes. They were so crispy, hot, and deliciously seasoned! It was the only thing we were able to finish at the restaurant! Finally, the owners definitely deserve a shout out. They are exceptionally friendly, courteous, and quick with their service. You can tell they take pride in their food! This made dining in an overall pleasant experience.

Small and cozy inside. Family friendly environment. Not in the most populated part of Mississauga, but a good off the beaten path location. Friendly, fast service. Nice portion sizes for the price. Food was hot, fresh and tasty. Would definitely visit this place again if in the area.

Came here on a whim as I was craving some Mexican food. This was my first time here, the service was ok, it wasn't bad but just nothing to rave about. I got the steak burrito and the chicken quesadillas. For the price, the portion is amazing! Definitely a bang for your buck. Considering this is suppose to be authentic Mexican food, I was just down by the lack of seasoning and spices on everything from the rice to the steak. The chicken quesadilla was definitely better than the burrito but still, nothing special, I've had better elsewhere.

I'm giving it 3 stars because the people were nice, the food however... not so much. The food will do if you're hungry but if you're looking for flavor, please go elsewhere. The enchiladas were tasteless, the rice and beans were also tasteless, the only thing that helped were the pickled jalapeños that they gave on the side. The chili con carne was also tasteless but again jalapeños to the rescue. I give them an A for effort but an F for execution.

Decent Mexican food in sauga!! If you are looking for some good ol' burritos, you've found the right place. The moment you walk in, you'd think that you would be at a fast food kind of restaurant, but the formats a little different. You pay after you consume your meal, which I found it a bit odd...but it seems to be the norm here. We ordered the regular chicken burrito without beans and jalapeños and beef fajitas. We highly recommend the beef...the taste was just majestic. The flank steak they use is amazing. Perfectly marinated and juicy enough to know that you aren't getting some frozen packaged filling. The onions were a bit on the greasy side but rice was prepared perfectly and seasoned and so was the guacamole. I thoroughly enjoyed my chicken burrito and seriously think, this might be my new go-to for Mexican food around the west end of the GTA!!
