Salsa Grill Cantina - Mission

I’ve been driving past this restaurant for years, and it always looked a bit dark from the outside! However, some friends recommended it, and I had a wonderful experience. The food was fantastic, and the prices were reasonable. Our waitress, Stephanie, was excellent. There are so many options to choose from, including chicken, beef, or pork, and they also offer vegan dishes. I’ll definitely be returning and bringing friends with me! The drink selection is impressive, and the margaritas were incredible, served with great chips.

Salsa Grill is our favorite Mexican restaurant in the Kansas City area. The salsa is fantastic—full of flavor, loaded with chopped vegetables, and available in mild, medium, and hot options. John, the owner, treats every customer like a friend. As vegetarians, we appreciate how John and the staff create delicious dishes packed with amazing flavors. The servers are professional and friendly, making us feel like family at Salsa Grill.

I had a disappointing dining experience. The chips were greasy, and both salsas were quite bland, lacking any spiciness. The rice was oddly crunchy, almost as if it had been overcooked. The chicken taco was decent, but the tortilla served alongside it was so soaked that it fell apart, likely because the meat wasn't properly drained before being added. The only item that was actually hot on the plate was the tamale, which ended up being our favorite, but even that was not very spicy. Overall, it was not a great meal.

I've been here a couple times and never found anything that woke me. I tried the steak tacos today and they were just the steak that was nothing else in them. I didn't know that the side that doubled it with as my toppings
