So I went down the street to eat at Rubios (way better food anyways). I've been going to subway a few times everymonth especially during baseball season and using them for catering options. Never had a problem until today. Never going backagain.
Subway has slightly updated their menu, introducing a new option called "Pro." Apparently, the term "meat" might offend some, so they refer to it as "extra protein," which means double meat. I decided to try the "Pro" option and was not disappointed. I think I went for the All American Sub, and it was fantastic. It does come at a higher price—around $15 for a sandwich—largely due to the double meat. But in the current economy, where many jobs that used to pay $8 or $9 an hour now pay $15, it's not entirely surprising. I can relate—I remember when my job paid just $1.75 an hour! A pleasant surprise in my sandwich was the bacon, and they gave me a decent amount. Bacon is a treat for me, as my wife usually doesn’t leave me much of it. Did I just think that or say it out loud? Yes, I truly listen to my wife. Standing at 5' and I at 6'2", she's as sweet as sugar and never yells. Still, I often end up not enjoying bacon and similar goodies. You can request your bacon to be heated separately from the sandwich, which I recommend. I prefer my bacon warm, and this one is precooked, so it’s safe either way. My sandwich featured meat and American cheese on Italian bread, and you have the freedom to pick what you want. The warm bacon really added a nice touch. Subway is generous with toppings—just ask if you want more. I loaded it up with olives, onions, peppers, and tomatoes. Now, here comes the fun part. They have a variety of sauces, or I could stick with my classic choice of oil and vinegar. Tradition won out, and I went with oil and vinegar. I was pleased with how my sandwich turned out. There was another person with a fried chicken sandwich that I’ll definitely try soon. It looked delicious, roasted instead of fried, and I managed to sneak a bite (offered, I swear!). It was satisfying, and I think some of their sweet-tangy sauces would pair perfectly with the chicken. One note: make sure you get the pulled chicken, as they also have a standard chicken patty. Our lunch ended up costing about $27 for two sizeable sandwiches, but you could easily feed two from one of them. If you’re in the mood for pastrami, keep an eye on Subway since it sometimes comes and goes. Perhaps they're trying to compete with Jersey Mike’s, another favorite of mine. While Mike's may not offer the same variety, they do make a great sandwich, with their Philly cheese steak being top-notch. I love a good sandwich! If you’re in Los Angeles, don’t miss the hidden deli on 6th and Hill. You must try one of their amazing sandwiches on bread that will set the standard for all other rolls. Grab a loaf to take home too—it's that delicious crusty bread. Just tell them Morg sent you. Trust me, you’ll be thankful!
I've been visiting this restaurant nearly every day for years. It’s located in a peaceful area with a friendly and welcoming staff. The place is always clean and features a high-tech soda machine. Recently renovated, it looks fantastic. Bruno and Enrique manage the establishment exceptionally well. It’s one of the best-kept secrets in MV, hidden away in the corner of a strip mall.
I was denied service because I refused to wear a mask. If masks are effective, then what difference does it make to you whether I wear one or not?
The staff was quite rude and short-tempered during my visit. As an elderly person with a hearing impairment, I found it particularly upsetting when they mocked me for having to repeat myself. I'm very disappointed that the staff isn't better trained in customer service.
