Non-vegan options are coated in an egg wash. Customers must order ahead if they want to take out the vegan empanadas uncooked, or otherwise wait 15-20 minutes for them to be cooked, or take them home to cook themselves. I ordered the vegan meat empanadas to cook at home and they were delicious, especially with the vegan sauce provided. The staff also knew which empanadas contained milk.
I decided to try this restaurant based on the Google reviews I had seen, and I was not disappointed. I came for lunch and ordered 3 Empanadas - beef, chorizo, and ham and cheese. The beef was my favorite, and I would be tempted to only get the beef empanadas next time as they were better than the chorizo and much better than the ham and cheese (which was good, but not outstanding in my opinion). The older lady who took my order (who I believe is one of the owners) was extremely friendly and nice. I sat outside, and she even came by to check on me, which is not something you usually see when ordering at the front counter. I did notice that the empanadas looked larger in the pictures, so I included a picture with my hand for reference. The prices here are a bit on the expensive side for lunch - each empanada was $3.75, and 3 is the minimum I would recommend. My total came to over $14 after tax, which is a bit high for me, even in 2022. However, because the food was delicious, I still gave it 5 stars and will definitely come back again.
We stopped eating for something else. The situation seems recently rebuilt. The menu is quite simple. They serve empanadas, sandwiches, salads and desserts. They have many tables and outside seats available. We follow the Gps, because we were not familiar with the area. We tried the Empanadas and Dessert. To my surprise they are not fried, but it made a light lunch, so we were happy about it. The Tres Leches Dessert was better than expected. I appreciated the wall painting in the main restaurant because of the contribution to the great Diego Armando Maradona. When Neapolitan as a football fan, it touched my heart and brought back many memories. If you are in the mood for some exotic flavors, this is the place to be.
Actually, I found this jewel a few days ago when our power was out and I didn't want to go home. I came here after work, had a glass of wine and some empanadas. Ends up chatting with one of the owners and saw a ton of families coming. All were warmly welcomed and the children were so excited to come in. The whole restaurant had a great feeling. I stopped this week to get Empanadas for my husband and even heated again he said they were big. 5 stars in my book. You? v got to check out this place
I was recently looking for empanadas and was lucky to stumble over Del Sur Empanadas. The lady who took my order has friendly and welcoming. It had a modern café design with stylish metal chairs and wooden tables. There were also seats inside and outside. The prices were fair about the quality of the food you get. I ordered a few different empanadas, and I also tried their homemade flan. Everything was delicious and you can taste the love and care placed in this food. I tried the chorizo, bbq chicken, spinach and sweet corn empanadas. The chorizo with chimhurri was such a perfect combination, and the chimhurri really took the chorizo empanada on a notch. The Bbq chicken was filled with chicken and had a balanced bbq taste. The chicken was delicate and super aromatic. The sweet corn and spicy sour cream paired like the chorizo and chimichurri. In the end, the spinach. This reminded me of spanikopita and it was creamy and tasty. All were great, but if I had to choose my favorites, I would definitely say the bbq chicken and the spinach. Another thing I liked was the softness of Empanada and the crispy edges. You honestly couldn't ask for better empanadas. I took the dessert to go, and the dulce de leche on the flan was the perfect combination. I had never had any flan, so I wasn't sure what to expect, but they also hit the nail on the head. The name and identification on the Empanada is also such a creative aspect. I will definitely support this business again in the future!
