They also offer 50% off on certain rolls if you sign up for an app or something similar. We did not sign up so we aren 't sure how that work. The restaurant 's setting is nice and cozy, it 's a big restaurant and quiet busy on Friday night. We ordered sashimi, a hot pot, mussel shooter, seafood tempura and 2 taki rolls. The sashimi was alright, the fishes were fresh, included common fishes that every sushi restaurant offered with decent price. I like their hot pot, it 's a seafood hot pot. It 's called hot pot but it actually a big bowl of noodles and seafood. The name can be misleading but we enjoy the food to not really care about it. Mussel shooter are alright too, we ordered 2 orders, which came with 4 mussel and 4 quail eggs but they did not have enough quail egg so one of the mussel missed 1 quail egg. The least favorite food that night is seafood tempura. It 's pricy compare to other food, but the taste wasn 't justified with the price of the tempura. Those taki rolls were good as well. Overall, i like this place. The waitress was really helpful and nice to us. The price is affordable. Their fishes are fresh. Good place to try out and enjoy the Midvale area.
I love the combination dinners, a variety to choose from. I had the chicken katsu and beef sukiyaki...yum! An abundance amount of food, tasty n always consistent. The waitresses r the best! They've been there a long time so, when u walk in, it's like walking into a family reunion. The restaurant has many different dishes from sushi to tempura to teriyaki, too much to choose from. Prices are comparable to other Japanese Restaurants. The owner is so welcoming n makes u feel right at home. I go there when I need comfort food n feel like I need to be around friends n family...
Our $20 Groupon was the motivating factor to get us in the door today. My four rolls, California, Philadelphia, tuna, and salmon, we're all fresh and meaty. The variety of rolls were my entrée and I was pleased with my choices. This is a good neighborhood sushi restaurant. You will not be disappointed in the rolls. The decor and tables are comfortable and there is plenty of free parking. I wouldn't go out of my way to eat at Suhiro, but if I was in the neighborhood, this spot should be on your short list of sushi bars. Salute!
Not a good place for lunch. Very slow service. Food was on par with Panda Express. I put in a pick up order during my lunch break and arrived before I thought it would be done, so I was prepared to wait. But I Ended up waiting over a half hour. Not only did it take long to make, but The girl in charge of bringing out my food wasn't paying attention so it sat there minutes after it was done. I had to rush back to work. I got the Vegetable Sukiyaki Lunch and was hoping it would at least taste good making it all worth it. It didn't. Everything was soggy. The vegetables were cooked to a mushy consistency. The tofu had the texture of baby food, there were only 2 pieces in whole the soup. The rice was soft and formless. The broth was flavorless. It came with a side salad that was literally just a handful of lettuce, they gave you two drops of salad dressing with it. The whole experience was disappointing. There's a Zao's next door that I thought about going to, but I wanted something a little fancier and instead I got baby food. Wouldn't eat there again. Would not recommend it, especially if you're in a hurry. The staff will dilly dally while your food over cooks to mush.
There's room for all kinds of Japanese food in this valley. From the painstakingly thought-out and meticulously-prepared, to the more everyday kind of meal. The same goes for burgers. The same goes for pizza. And so on. What we have here is probably much closer to the latter--an easy, come-as-you-are kind of Japanese restaurant with a wide appeal for sushi and broad stroke menu. That's great. There's room for it, and if you know that going in ahead of time, you're not going to be disappointed. The dining room is much bigger than you think. It could use a refresh, but a hot, sexy atmosphere isn't exactly what they're going for. It matches their approach. Choose from a decent sized selection of sushi rolls and several kitchen dishes. There's nothing to exotic, but it's all accessible. I went with one of the most uncommonly served dishes in a tekka don. This rice bowl is served with several thinly sliced pieces of tuna on top of rice, and a little bit of sauce. Unless you've had a donburi, it's a little hard to describe, but they have a few varieties on the menu to try. Our service was super sweet. Kind folks who were happy to serve us even though we got there with less than 30 minutes to go before closing time. I think Suehiro is one of those places that does great with the neighbors, where they may not be making a special trip to come in, but just having it nearby and using it as an option is probably not a bad idea.
