Kebab Mahal - Midlothian

My wife and I ordered a takeaway from here and we thought it was pretty good. Delivery time was much quicker than originally stated which was nice. They were able to customise my order which was also appreciated. Unfortunately the Mahal Mixed Kebab which I ordered had plentiful salad but not as much meat as I was expecting. It also didn’t include any donner meat that it was supposed to. I had to steal some from my wife’s meal as she appeared to have an abundance of donner. The meat that I got was quite nice but the peshwari naan was what stole the show. We also got a few dips which complemented the meal well. We did find that paying £36 was quite pricey for 2 dishes.

Customer service was good. They seemed busy but not stressed out. I usually come here and response is always the same.

I placed an online order for a scheduled drop off time, with more than 1 hour and a half notice, I even called the restaurant to confirm the address and time because the app couldn’t find my exact address, when the delivery window pasted I called the restaurant again and spoke to the same person, and she told me that they had been busy and were behind, and that my order wasn’t even prepared yet and would be around half an hour, more than 1 hour later than u had “scheduled” for the food to arrive for my young children and myself, then I get a call, 2 hours after placing the order, telling that they don’t have chicken and only chicken tikka, so now the order will be 1 and an half hours late, and my kids and I getting more and more Irritable about the situation, and the desire to eat gone, I’m sure they have put back the order until last, on more than 1 occasion because this is not possible for an order to take more than 2 hours to prepare at only 2 miles from the restaurant…. The food is great here, but it will be a long time until I think of ordering from this place due to the lamentable delivery service and the inability to fulfill a scheduled delivery and not by a few minute, more than an hour.

My daughter and her friends rave about this place. Anytime I have tried what they've bought it has been decent.

3.5 hours for a neighbour to have taken our food and a new one been sent but it was stone cold, I’ve had great food every other time but this is terrible.
