Price is about the same as any other high end Smoked Salmon counter. The history of this is basically it used to be its own smoked salmon counter for many years. From what I learned from the lady at the counter all the old employees now work at Banner Smoked Fish in Coney Island. The fish is sent up here to Glendale to still serve customers in the area who come in to purchase. Please Stop by if you havent been! the Quality is amazing and thats coming from someone who goes to Fish Friday at Acme almost every week.
Absolute hidden gem. You will not find better quality smoked fish in New York.
The smoked fish is good and the woman who works there is very nice, very friendly.
Old school style smoked fish. The best lox, smoked sable and sturgeon anywhere in New York.
I have been going to this place, or the place that preceded it for 50 years. The original Rego Smokehouse is gone, but Carmen remains and never sells you anything she wouldn't eat herself. She worked for the old place and stayed after it closed. She is now the owner and operator of a scaled down version of the old place. You get Manhattan quality smoked fish at Queens prices. Carmen sometimes talks about retiring because business is not like it use to be. Please go and if you like it, keep going. If Carmen closes, it will be a big loss to the area. Isn't easy to find the first time you go, but well worth it. Carmen looks to please her customers and wouldn't sell you anything bad. Save the Smoke House, keep Carmen working, enjoy the smoked fish. Places like this are becoming more scarce by the day.
