The Chip Inn - Mid Suffolk

We used to love The Chip Inn, but they recently switched to cooking their chips in beef dripping. Although you can request them cooked in vegetable oil, they just don't have the same taste as before. The last bag we ordered was so salty that it left my mouth feeling extremely dry.

The best fish and chip shop in the Stowmarket area! After trying several others, this one stands out as the top choice. The chips are consistently cooked to perfection, and you can request a box instead of paper wrapping. The prices are reasonable, and the staff are friendly and welcoming. The restaurant is clean and has four parking spaces available outside, or you can park at the nearby petrol station. The fish and battered sausages are always crispy, well-seasoned, and not overly greasy. Two people can enjoy a meal for less than £15.

The food was amazing and the staff was even better. The portion sizes were great, and it is definitely the best fish and chip shop in the area!

Absolutely amazing. I have been so down since finding out I had celiac disease that I couldn’t have fish and chips anymore, then my husband found this gem. Everything is cooked in a separate fryer to everything else it was very reassuring. Portion size was really good, it wasn’t much more that normal cost and it tasted just as good. I would highly recommend this chip shop I can’t wait to visit again.
