Goodwood Barbeque Co - Meridian

I was tasked with setting up catering for a company event and was a bit directionless until I spoke with Mimi. Mimi had great patience and was incredibly helpful in determining quantity and variety. She communicated well and even collaborated to match our color scheme. The food was yummy, our servers, Jessie and Stacie (spelling? were outstanding, and rounded out the overall wonderful experience. Great value, great eats, and definitely great staff!

Very nice lunch out with friends to celebrate a friend’s birthday! Food was good, and I would recommend this restaurant to others, and definitely go back again!

This GoodWood is up and down. Usually good smoke flavor and decent service. Today took my family for a post Christmas lunch and we were blessed with not one but two hairs in our nachos... Obviously, everyone lost their appetite after that, but they only offered to take the hairy nachos off our bill and nothing more. Seems to me more should have been done after ruining our whole experience. At least take the soft drinks off the tab as a good will offering. Sheeesh... Our waitress was attentive.

We came to this location over the weekend really out just being starved and it was close to the shopping we were doing. Walking in we're pleasantly greeted and sat down. Shortly after our waiter came over and enjoyed how friendly he was and answered a few questions about the menu. Over the last few years I have been underwhelmed with their locations and while the service and food at this location was better than others it still was middle of the road for me. We started of the small order of onion rings which I think was the star if the meal. Large steakhouse style onion rings with great batter, texture and flavor. For dinner I had the Delmonico Prime Rib which is basically the prime rib thrown back on and caramelized with bbq sauce. The meat was cooked well at medium rare but did not dig so much the bbq sauce addition. This would be much better copying the Outback and just some seasoning and seared instead of overwhelming amount of bbq sauce and flavor. My wife had the the 1/2 rack bbq ribs and while they had a good smoke ring they tasted like they had been sitting around and were pretty drier out. They did have good flavor and had the potential just didn't deliver for me on bbq flavors I adore. I will say that for Good Wood this is the better of the locations I have tried.
