Amore Italian Ristorante Bar - Meridian

My business partner and I were only in Meridian for a quick business trip but we were so glad we found this gem. Atmosphere was so nice, relaxed and homie. The food was amazing and the service matched. Thanks to the ladies with the smiling faces and kudos to the chef!I recommend this place to anyone. Stop in and try the Tour of Italy in order to get a little bit of 3 dishes!

Passed through traveling and was craving pizza. A quick Google search of this sleepy town, locals recommended Amore which wasn't too far from the highway, about 2 miles. Cute concept and gave an authentic Italian feeling. Greeter and server were kind and welcoming which warrants 2 stars however, what Italian restaurant doesn't have PIZZA and LASAGNA on a Saturday afternoon? I didn't order despite the servers recommendations and decided to eat elsewhere. I couldn't give them a fair chance without the classics.

We drove over an hour, based on the reviews, to eat here. The restaurant itself is adorable, cozy, quaint. The bread was good. However, before our food arrived, a strong bleach smell came from the kitchen- making my husband sick. We asked the waitress to open the door which she did. Once the smell dissipated, we closed the door. Our food arrived and we started to eat and the bleach smell came back. It was apparent the waitress did not tell/ask the kitchen staff to hold off on cleaning with bleach. Keep in mind, we arrived at 7:30 pm to eat dinner. The restaurant does not close until 10:00 pm. There was no need to start wiping everything down with bleach. We ended up asking for to-go boxes and paying $130 (for 4 people, no appetizers) just to get away from the smell of bleach. I had such high hopes for this restaurant. Unfortunately, we will not be returning.
