フィードバックを提供するWe read some pretty good reviews about this place, plus had some words about that it really authentic, so without thinking twice, we have a day of our stay in merida to the breakfast here. we were not sure what the...property itself expects because it is somehow located outside the tourist and business district. when we arrived, we found a small, pleasant, simple, but cozy, gardening place. We felt comfortable with the place (found where to park, and found that the place was doable on wheelchair) and went to the right. the menu was varied and – I think – extensive for such a small place. we actually did not go through the details of the offers and had the “Motuleños”: a local dish consisting of a few roasted eggs over a tortilla, covered with salsa of their choice (in the regular tomato-based,) and fried banana slices, sink and broom; very popular about yucatan and so a plentiful and tasty breakfast. However, the “Motuleños” in chichibas were close and far from excellent. we certainly had better in our week stay in merida and I would not even consider Chichibas’ in the top 3. after the “Motuleños” we added a few quesadillas to our order, something that is not entirely the yucatan half island, but still went with them. to complete our visit, we ordered a “Sandria”, a watermelon based refreshment drink. in this case the drink was a lot and refreshing, so no complaining here. overall, chichibas was an average breakfast experience, which is negative when we order the bill. the whole breakfast for two (as described above) was something like $40 usd! a bit quite expensive for an breakfast in merida, for a place like chichibas (off merida mainstream areas), and for the actual eating we were served. as an example, any order of motuleños was something like $7USD (reasonable,) but each quesadilla was something like $5 usd! some of the prisities I've ever had. the “Sandria” was also something like $5 usd and coffee was deaducks price animal seriously? I have to be honest here, as I said, we did not go through the menu in detail and do not remember checking on the prices, but after we have received the bill that we left chichibas with the feeling of "touristic prices": an unacceptable feeling. independent of the fact that this place is untrustworthy or simply expensive, eating itself is not worth the effort (to this place drive, or get along with the taxi, or find a taxi for the return flight) or the time for the departure of the known road.
We held here on the basis of reviews and so glad that we! it is a small oasis set back from the road and to call it charming is an understatement. all we have ordered was excellent: chicharron quesadilla, enchiladas, cappuccino, flan and her small fried teig donuts (I...forget the Spanish name). you have to get the donuts! service was wonderful. highly recommended!
My friends and I came after class one day and had drinks and buñuellos and they were fantastic. Thank god I'm living across the street for the next month.
My friends and I local hangout The Buñuelos Chichibas were one of the best desserts I've ever had Frappe Naranja Kiwi was also very delicious and refreshing, overall the food was delicious and they were so nice and welcoming. Such a cute place to hang...out.
