I visited about a year ago, and the food was exceptional. I don't know what has changed since then, but now it tastes like cardboard. I'm so disappointed!

The atmosphere is great and the setting is fantastic, but unfortunately, the food is among the worst you can find in Newcastle. The dishes were inedible, and the service was terrible. To make matters worse, we saw the kitchen staff eating directly off customers' plates before serving them. I would have expected that taste testing would lead to food that was actually enjoyable. If we could give zero stars, we absolutely would.

I am super quick to criticize local restaurants and bars that don't support local, but today we stumbled into #modusbrewery in Merewether. Fantastic beers but the highlight was a Hunter dominant wine list with a good spread of mid range and top shelf. The best local Newie wine list by far and no surprise that the place is full. Food also excellent and lightning quick. If you build it, they will come. Hats off.

The restaurant has a great look and a fresh atmosphere, but it’s difficult to fully enjoy the experience when the drinks and food are so pricey. I don’t feel like you get your money's worth. Just my opinion.
