フィードバックを提供するThis restaurant has been a staple in Merced for many years. The food is excellent and served in generous portions (definitely try the pork chops with eggs, hash browns, and biscuit bread—there's enough for breakfast leftovers tomorrow!). My only complaint is that my meal was lukewarm, but it was still delicious. The cakes also caught my eye, especially the piece of pecan pie—it looked delightful. You can order it by the slice or as a whole pie.
The beef soup was incredible—rich in flavor, with fresh, crispy vegetables and tender beef, all swimming in a perfectly balanced broth. I also tried the Hamburg with cheese; although I didn't eat it, I sampled the meat and it was packed with authentic flavor and moisture. My daughter ordered the beef dip with fries, which were large, fully cooked, and wonderfully prepared. My granddaughter had a croissant sandwich that she absolutely loved. However, if you want to avoid disappointment, steer clear of the half sandwiches—definitely a big no for us!
Wow! I had forgotten just how incredible the food is at Paul’s Place. Let me start with the scrambled eggs—prepared exactly the way I love them, with butter. I ordered the Ham and Eggs breakfast, which came with Country Potatoes and a cookie, as well as gravy. The biscuit and gravy definitely passed my breakfast test; the biscuit was thick, and the gravy was delicious. I received outstanding service from Suzanne (Suzzy), who was both friendly and professional. I also enjoyed a cup of black coffee and a huge glass of orange juice—the portion was massive! The servings here are generally generous. Suzanne kept my coffee filled, which is very important to me!
Were forced to wait despite clearly visible open tables, then finally sat at one of these open tables. Side salad was pathetic with all two cucumber slices, a precious few ointments of carrots and mixed greens, which was mainly iceberg. Garlicries were edible, but most of them were undercooked. A waffle and ham plate came out cold. Always asked for additional napkins on at least two different servers, and they were never brought. My wife went to pay and was not ignored by one but two employees. Burger was good, so rating was not even lower.
This was a really nice place for lunch. I took my brothers here for lunch, my younger brother is autistic, and they were very kind to him. He can get a little loud and the waitress Thelma was very kind. The food was good too.
