The Trust - Melbourne

I came in here in a slightly bad mood as I had just been rejected from the nearby Rare restaurant as they were full. So walked past this place and came in with no knowledge of it. I wouldn't say it was a treat, but it wasn't at all bad. Probably a little expensive for what it was, but better than I expected after reading the reviews on here after I had sat down and ordered a drink. I had the chicken scallopini, which was a little garlic heavy for me, but was enjoyable overall. With no veg on the plate at all, I had to order veg and chips on the side, which makes it too high a price for what it was. Previous comments on here about old Russian furniture are spot on! Uncomfortable and tired. The music was not too loud, so someone with a bit of sense had the volume control today.

I popped in here to check out the longest bar in the South Hemisphere and because I am currently checking out these lovely cafes in the big old historical buildings in Melbourne - this was lovely. I just had a drink here and enjoyed popping around taking photos, but I recommend it as a lovely place for a drink and they also have an Italian restaurant in here but I didn't go to that.

Went for a drink on a Thursday night and was very disappointed by the cold and cheap-looking furnishings (Soviet-style plastic-looking) not befitting for such a beautiful building. The drinks list was limited and (not surprisingly) hardly anyone was there. Will not go again.

Italian restaurant tested 4 times, everything was excellent (salmon, swordfish, lemon pasta, tiramisu...). Very nice welcome! Limoncello at the end of the meal :-). Good value for money. Monday and Tuesday plate of pasta and glass of wine for $25.

When you have a restaurant you name The Trust, one might expect that you can 'trust' the experience to be in the lest, as required or deemed enjoyable. We had a booking for a Christmas work lunch for 17 and I am not joking when I say one waiter to take food orders and service the tables drinks. The drinks alone took 45 minutes from sitting down and our lunch another hour. The food was good don't get me wrong but if (and I'm assuming this is the case) you are short staffed t such a busy time, then advise the table of guests. We had no idea and as the PA that chose the restaurant it was I that received the "looks" from others. This was actually December 2015 but I was unable to choose that option below. I just hope since then things have improved!
