フィードバックを提供するBack in the early 2000s this place also known as Pinocchios back then was proper, legit old school, family owned, home cooked Italian food. From it's pizzas to it's pastas. Today it's become a modern version of an old restaurant masking but not basking in the glory of it's predecessor. Whilst it's pizza is decent, it really depends on who makes it. Also sometimes or rather most of the time the staff are fairly rude and have this sense of self entitlement. If you get lucky, your pizza turns out good along with good service. If not, you might wanna come back another day when a regular you may know is working.
Ou've got to wonder about a place named after a puppet especially one whose nose grows longer after telling a lie. My friend and I stumbled upon this place ( kind of like you'd end up on the wrong side of town) after our delightful meal which was elsewhere. She wanted to try cognac and this place had it on the menu and it was open. There were 4 types to choose from ranging from $30 to $12 and we decided on the $12 option. the cognac was served but when I paid the bill ( 2 coffees and 2 x $12 cognacs it was $68.00!) Of course I paid it because I was tired and also I didn't want to embarrass my friend but OH how dodgy! I contacted the owner the next day about his dodgy practices and he was cocky and lied about our interaction.....he tried to justify it by saying we'd chosen the most expensive cognac and that other places would charge more!I don't want to be in a place where I'm being taken for a ride and I don't want you to be taken for a ride either....this is why I'm writing this.
We've been here with a large group and had the metre long pizza's - they are huge! - and really tasted great. We've also been just as a couple and had a wonderful night. Never been disappointed here - and for a really great South Yarra restaurant it's nice to find one where the prices are not too over the top
We took our 2-year old daughter to Pinnochios last weekend. I think the waiters and waitresses would have adopted her if we let them! They brought her over pens and special serves of ice cream. They were so friendly and accommodating. The food was great too. Really good pizza. We got a Scoupon deal for $49 with 2 glasses of wine, 2 entres and 2 mains. The wine was actually good quality too. So great value. Worth looking out for those deals as they seem to do them now and again.
Saturday evening 25 April 2017, F1 weekend. walkigf past enroute to F1 and saw door open. Stuck our necks in and enquired about booking for 2 that evening. yes no probs was the friendly reply...good start.Arrived 10mins prior to booking and had a drink, average price. staff looked after us even though they were under the pump and a couple of staff down out front. Apart from a bit of a wait IT WAS WORTH IT. Again average prices but for what the tucker was, puts the rating of this restaurant right up there in overall value. not the most romantic place we have eaten in but we were more interested in filling our bellies.... highly recommended
