MoVida Next Door - Melbourne

What can be better than a post tennis drink at this lovely bar? Sitting at the bar with cool wine and nibbles helped along by the obliging and friendly staff continues to be a Melbourne delight. Perhaps some air conditioning might be a useful addition.

MoVida Next Door is the next door to MoVida, yes, I’m serious. We came in on a Wednesday night at 7:45ish and sat on the bar seats. Most seats were taken. I asked for recommendations for Tapas. We had the Miguel, lengua and bocadillo. OMG, loved tapas! My favourite would be the Miguel, which gave me many different tastes in one bite. We had the calamares as our main dish. It was fresh and tasty. The squid ink was a bit salty but could be the best dip with the free served bread. I would say it is one of the best places to have tapas or a small meal or a laidback night.

I keep coming back here because the food is delicious and the service is generally very good.  You cannot book here so you need to be a bit patient but I've never had to wait more than a few minutes for a table.  This place can get crowded and noisy but if you're Ok with this, it's a place where you get consistently delicious food at reasonable prices.

Flavoursome and beautifully presented food. Lovely ambiance. Attention to detail is excellent. Felt some dishes (octopus) were quite small for the price. The list of specials read by the waiter was much too long, fast and complex. Forgot them immediately. Having these listed on paper would be preferable. Looking forward to returning.
