フィードバックを提供するWe ate here for an early Sunday breakfast. Good coffee double shot lattes to get focused. Followed by a BLT and good old bacon, fried eggs and tomato. Quick service, hot tasty food. Nothing to complain about and we were served, ordered , eaten and departed within 30 mins.
Had a light and late dinner in a almost empty rstaurant. The menu was not imprssivwith few dishes on it but what we got was quite satisfactory although not the top of the tps as the stake was a little teasteless and somehow hard. The wine was ok, the staff was great and were very kind and nice to me. So overall not a bad experience.
I have dined at this restaurant on a number of occasions. I used to enjoy going here for lunch to have a baguette and a glass of wine. The prices are a bit high but the food was reasonable. I recently had dinner here with a friend and it seems that the menu has changed. There isn 't a lot of choice. My friend had the Caboose Burger and was very disappointed, for over $20 all she got was an overly salty patty, a slice of tomato and some lettuce on a standard bread roll with some fries served in a frying pan. I had the fish of the day and it was slightly over cooked but otherwise tasty. We asked for some water and were given a very warm bottle of tap water, which seemed strange as it was a warm evening and the restaurant is not air conditioned. The service is a little unprofessional but mostly friendly. Considering the size and location we were surprised how empty the place was for a Saturday night, this could reflect their limited menu. As a place for a quick pre-theatre meal, it is fine, but we wouldn 't recommend their signature Caboose Burger .
We dined in for a quick lunch on a Friday. Service was very polite and attentive. My husband's wagu burger and fries was a hit, the burger being cooked to perfection and very flavoursome overall. My fish stew with sourdough bread had a beautiful deep flavour very enjoyable! All washed down with a nice house red. Will visit again!
If you're looking for a no-frills, simple yet high-quality meal like steak and chips done in the French style, then this is the perfect spot to visit, especially on a nice day. The outdoor seating is unique, with wooden boxes and a raw, simple decor. The menu is concise and the food is served quickly. The service is fast and efficient, in line with the fast food style of the restaurant. I am particular about my steak and it must be of top quality and cooked to perfection; Caboose met my expectations. The steak was excellent, cooked rare and tender on a charcoal grill. The aioli was exceptional and the chips were authentic French frites. If you're seeking something quick but still want a satisfying meal, this hidden gem is worth a visit. I would definitely return.
