Decided to go here before heading into Cambridge for a play. Myself and two friends. The fish chips was atrocious. I couldn't eat it. The absolute worst Fish and Chips I'd ever been served. The batter was thick and full of oil. The fish (if that's even what it was) had no taste (maybe an oil taste) and the texture was horrid. I left the whole thing, and ate when I got home from the play. I can't believe they served this to paying customers. I've had Fish and Chips at Town Tavern and its wonderful. Should have gone there as usual. I'd advise sticking to burgers at Mentomy. I'm still mad about it, not just for the cost of the meal, but for how extremely bad it was. Inedible.
The service/staff are EXCELLENT, but the food was on the 'Chili 's, Applebee 's, etc ' end of the spectrum... not terrible, but not what I expected. The 2 items in particular that we were 'meh ' but should be hard to get wrong were the fries and brussel sprouts... both were on the mushy end of the spectrum rather than crispy. Would I eat here again if I was in a pinch, for sure... will I go out of my way, no.
Been here a bunch and the food is always good. Fish Chips and the Pork Sausage Banh Mi in particular are very tasty. Last time we were here we had the Korean Ribs and the Soup of the Day which was Red Curry Coconut Soup with Vegetables but was clearly tom kha lol. Both were delicious, this place kills it with the Asian fusion stuff. They also have really good cocktails, especially the pear ginger cocktail and the blueberry lemonade one. Portions are solid for the price expect to pay around $20 for a big and filling entree, $13 for cocktails. Service can definitely be a bit slow, but they 're usually pretty busy, so it 's to be expected. Ambience is ok, decent place for the family but so so for a date night. Gotta give it five stars though for such consistent food and being our neighborhood pub
Super cozy place. The inside is very charming. I can see snuggling in here when it's cold outside. The menu was very limited. Not many choices. I love shrimp and grits and the ones here were only ok. The kids cheeseburger was $11 which is a bit outrageous. I would come here for a drink with a date or a drink and an appetizer. Just not an impressive menu.
